Our man of the moment Jacob Stoy not only did the wonderful music for the latest Uncanny Valley EP but also shot two videos for two of its tracks. You can watch them here and you can read what Jacob has to say about it. He’s a man who knows where he’s coming from.
Jacob Stoy – Gegenwart
“Gegenwart is the German word for present and that’s why the video is all about the here and now. Consequently, it’s shot from the perspective of an observer. Imagine a granny looking out of the window the whole day while resting her elbows on a cozy pillow.
The scenes were filmed in my hometown Rabenau. Whenever I am over there I got the feeling of having arrived in the present. Sometimes big cities make my head spin a little too much.”
Jacob Stoy – Hauswart
“A Hauswart (engl. caretaker) is always there. He’s caring for the house, knows the latest stories and will probably be there forever. Although it’s a little mean to compare a Hauswart to a sheep, I recognized a lot of similarities when I was watching them.
The sheep have been grazing for years on a mountain pasture by the wayside between Freital and Rabenau. I’ve hiked up this hill at least 50 times but it was only once that I had my camera with me!”
