Hi Consti, could you please introduce yourself to our listeners?

I am Consti, I live in the South of Leipzig. I am working for the booking agency Buki Good. Besides this I also co-run the label Doumen Records with my friends Konsti and Henrik. Furthermore I am proud to be part of the Nachtdigital festival crew and volunteering at the famous Conne Island in Leipzig.

How has the mix been recorded and what’s the idea behind it?

The mix is the first hour of my set at L`Hibou in Dresden where I played on Dec 8th. My set time was 23:00 till 02:30. When I play these “warmup” slots for clubnights I always try to create an athmosphere which makes the dancers feel they can easily slip into the party and enter the dancefloor. For me it`s quite important to start slow and smoove and slowly enhance the vibe in the club. It is a bit like a good dinner. First comes the appetizer, then the starter, and you have to bring it to the main course, which might be the DJ after you or a headliner or whatever…

How long have you been deejaying and how has it evolved over the time?

I started DJing in 2006. By that time I was diving into the Conne Island crew and clubnights and I got to know Heiko (DJ OneTake) and Jan (Map.ache). I was always really interested in all kinds of music (I used to play violine for 12 years), but those two guys finally awakened my interest for all different kinds of electronic music and I started to buy records on a regular basis. Due to my new hobby (buying records) I met Alex (Sevensol) and Steffen (Filburt) who where running the Freezone Record shop and throwing the weekly Wednesday dance “Midi” at TuF and later at Ilses Erika.
Today my favorite places to play at are the Distillery, Ilses Erika and of course my homebase – Conne Island.

Is there a record that triggered your interest in electronic music and brought you to deejaying?

No not really – it was more the electronic music itself. I don`t have a record which I could classicly name which was my personal door opener to electronic music.

What do your parents think about what you do?

I should ask them how they would imagine a clubnight to themselves. Maybe like a wedding celebration?

What are your projects for the next time?

Mainly – forcing the Buki Good agency stuff with all represented artists. And we`ll bring on several records on Doumen Records this year (really looking forward to this).

Finally, what’s the last record before the lights are switched on?

My fave: Spandau Ballett – True
