Hello, could you please introduce yourself to our listeners?

My name is RVDS (Richard von der Schulenburg). Since 2005 I’m a resident at Golden Pudel Club Hamburg. 2008 I founded the label “it’s” and since 2010 I headed on my own. Besides I made releases for Terpsiton, Laid, Smallville Records. By DJ Elin I met Uncanny Valley after a party at “Kleines Wettbüro” – I love UV’s switching through genres in club music, which I’m used to at the Pudel Club.

How has the mix been recorded and what’s the idea behind it?

The mix was recorded at home with vinyls, incl. all mixing mistakes. It’s a real mix through different moods and genres, which is familiar to Uncanny Valley. In the mix you can listen to the great collaboration I did with one of my Chicago House heroes Mr. K’Alexi Shelby.

How long have you been deejaying and how has it evolved over the time?

I’m deejaying my whole life — well not really, but I played 1988 at a school party the first time and since 1995 i’m playing records in Hamburg bars, since 2005 i’m playing mostly club music, means I started mixing records. The Pudel Club is a perfect place for me, cause I can play and combine different kind of music. It’s a place full of space.

Is there a record that triggered your interest in electronic music and brought you to deejaying/producing?

There are so many to mention. Well, the first “electronic” record which my older brother brought into our house (when I was eight) was “Soft Cell – Bedsitter”:

The electronic groove, the sounds and the vocals of Marc always catch me. This was absolutely new at that time and the aftermath is still very strong.

What do your parents think about what you do?

Good question. I’ll ask them the next time when I meet them.

What are your projects for the next time?

There are two artists which I probably will release on it’s: “Scheich in china” and another Felix Kubin record. I’m still working on new RVDS music and with Lawrence and Christian Naujoks we are working on the project “Sky Walking” . All things are in progress!

Finally, what’s the last record before the lights are switched on?

The last track in the podcastmix by Donato Dozzy is a perfect last track, but in the moment I really get catched by a few Italo disco tracks, so this is the better last record after a party: Big Ben Tribe – Tarzan loves the summer nights:
