Hi Michael, could you please introduce yourself to our listeners?

Hey, my name is Michael Fischer but most people know me as Mille. I am living and working in Berlin/Neuköln.
Under the moniker Mille & Hirsch I’m releasing music together with Peter Hirsch since early the 2000’s.
Together with my brother I’m running a music imprint called Apollo Krieg and Super Stupid Bros.

I’m deeply connected to Leipzig an it’s scene and I’m sharing some friends with UV for example Blackred, Spacedisco, DJ Filburt or the whole R.A.N.D. surrounding.

How has the mix been recorded and what’s the idea behind it?

Two turntables, a mixer and my soundcard. (vinyl only)

Clubbig! not too much old stuff. Including Promo copies that I got from my distributor. Big thanks to Diamonds & Pearls Berlin. I was happy to include my latest track which is going to be release on the forthcoming UV020.2 compilation.

How long have you been deejaying and how has it evolved over the time?

I started at an off spot underground location called “Zündspule” in Leipzig in the early 90’s. Some of the older generations should still know it. Everybody went there, everything that was cool had been played from Indie, Funk, Garage, Hip-Hop and Detroit but nobody actually mixed. The main thing was if it’s dance-able and if it’s not so called whistle-blow techno (or circus techno). There was never an intention to spin records, it was more like “you got a great haircut, you should try it.” … after you taste the blood you can’t stop. Musical wise nothing really changed since then. Deep Soulful and sometimes weird.

Is there a record that triggered your interest in electronic music and brought you to deejaying/producing?

There has been always good music at my parents place in east Germany in the 70’s abd 80’s like: Stevie Wonder, Udo Jürgens, Kraftwerk, Bee Gees. (mostly on cassette)

One of the first electronic produced record that I bought in mint condition at a record store. I still have it after 20 years. Definitely a double LP that inspired me:

What do your parents think about what you do?

“What have we done wrong?” 🙂 … I think they like the things I do and I get their support.

What are your projects for the next time?

leaving berlin

Finally, what’s the last record before the lights are switched on?

Most soul/jazz/soundtrack, sometimes this and sometimes that but this one here fits perfectly:

Thank you, Thank you – Roy Ayers/Whayne Henderson
