uvpod019 Albrecht Wassersleben

Hello, could you please introduce yourself to our listeners?

Hello, my name ist Albrecht. Besides my mates Carl, Conrad & Philipp I am one of the founders of Uncanny Valley.

How has the mix been recorded and what’s the idea behind it?

I’m going to play at a small festival in Bulgaria called Meadows in the Mountains and I’ll continue traveling with a friend to Istanbul and Georgia for a couple of weeks. Imagining the whole trip I was searching for some songs that could soundtrack the whole journey. Thinking about sitting on top of the hills near Sofia, riding the Orient Express over the Bosporus, walking the beaches of the Black Sea and wandering through the Caucasus. That’s why I chose no dance floor music and made it like a mix tape you can put on your ears while riding your bike to the lake.

How long have you been deejaying and how has it evolved over the time?

I’m deejaying for more then 10 years now. I started with friends playing Indie music at private parties, bars or after concerts at the local youth centre. When you busy yourself with music a lot it’s great to have a soundtrack for every moment in your life and then you’ll find yourself digging on and on. It’s a never ending story of progress in both knowledge and deejaying.

Is there a record that triggered your interest in electronic music and brought you to deejaying?

The Notwist were the first band I listend to that constantly used electronic elements to expand their musical universe. I really love how Console is sampling the dial up modem in the end of the song.

What do your parents think about what you do?

I should rather save my money instead of spending it for records.

What are your projects for the next time?

Uncanny Valley world domination 😉 … no, just kidding. Expanding the musical universe of our three labels: UV, shtum and Rat Life

Finally, what’s the last record before the lights are switched on?

An edit that sounds like it should never end!
